Whatever you may think of his politics, I thought this video was remarkable...

I know! I've been voting since 1980 and he's the 1st ever to give this kind of hope and inspiration!

My thought almost every time I see him...I wish I was the person behind the camera! ;-)

I have no comment on Obama as I'm not American & prefer to keep silent on your elections.
What does interest me is the extent to which Obama seems to have an impact on people who probably support Greg Boyd's oft stated position that Christians should not worry too much about the kingdoms of this world as they are part of the more important kingdom of God. (My poor paraphrase)
Still, it is a great experience to have a national leader who is inspiring and who rises above the usual mess of politics. I hope you get the person you, and we, need.

Marica, I wish you were the person behind the camera too--I know it would be amazing!

Dean-welcome! I agree with you--it's a fine line between being inspired by a politician and putting your faith in one. But it IS wonderful to have a leader offering a positive message of hope and unity rather than fear and divisiveness--even if he is not the author Himself of hope and unity. :-)

We had Nelson Mandela, so I know what you mean. Just occasionally a really great leader does emerge and there's no reason not to be enthusiastic.

Marcia: you do have the most to the point comments in the various blogs I see you in :)

Dean...I hope I'm not rude?!?!?! And what blogs? Terri's and Providence? It's weird that you somewhat know me and I know nothing about you. Spill a little! ;-)

I am the youngest of 5 brothers and 3 sisters...I had to fight to be heard!

PS Dean..now that we're getting to know each other...I can share with you...when I am with GB and our small group of 8 people...we ALL have 8 different opinions! I never would identify myself as GB "supporter"...I am his friend...in our friendships there is diversity and differences. A lot of his thoughts are refined through many conversations as we argue differences....it's just that his get published. ;-)
